HYIP means high yield investment program. It offers you an online investment opportunity: once you invested, you will receive interest daily (weekly or monthly). There is a big variety of high yield investment programs now; the typical HYIP offer is 1%-3% daily, however there are programs that offer up to 10% of daily profit. HYIP investment process is simple: you create an account in the program and deposit money via e-currency. From this moment your account is usually credited daily with a certain amount depending on the investment plans of HYIP.

There are a lot of disputes about what was the first high yield investment program; a great majority of people consider that the first online investment program was “Stock Generation”. It was a predecessor of a modern HYIP.  Stock generation was a company registered in Dominica as a game that operated since 1998 to 2000; it offered an opportunity to purchase shares of 11 companies, the price of each share usually increased twice a month (!). SG has involved at least 275,000 investors and collapsed in June 1, 2000. Nowadays HYIP is a more spread phenomenon: there are lots of investment programs on the internet, many sources of advertisement for them and more advanced stories about the source of income. However the volume of investments has decreased dramatically; one of the main reasons is the fact that most HYIPs use Ponzi Scheme to pay the interest, and it is a well-known fact now. Having it in mind, investors seldom take risk of investing a serious amount in HYIP, so the funds’ turnover doesn’t let the admin of such program afford heavy advertisement to attract new investors.

Can you make money online investing in HYIP and have a decent income? Yes, certainly. An average HYIP stays online for a definite period of time that usually allows you to make investment profitable. Are the any guarantees that you will be in profit investing in certain program? No, absolutely. HYIP investment is quite unpredictable thing; no one can determine how long HYIP will stay online.

So what’s the final conclusion? My verdict is consistent: invest in HYIP only if you have enough information about it and you can afford to lose what you have invested. The more you invest – the more experience you acquire – the more profitable HYIP investment becomes.
